Pixton Comics

Hi, here's the link to Pixton Comics: https://share.pixton.com/qe8qeqg Sequence of the activity: Practise of the time and the vocabulary related to their daily routines. Explanation of present simple. Showing of some examples of Pixton comics already made. Doing together a sample comic on the interactive whiteboard. Publishing the activity to be done on Classroom (My daily routines - individual activity) and solve doubts. Co-evaluation in class of all the projects. Objectives: To revise the time and the vocabulary of routines. To learn the present simple. To make the learning process engaging. To learn to write creatively I think my students were very happy to do a writing activity in a creative way, which resulted in more tasks handed in than usual, as I gave them absolute freedom to do the comic the way they liked. They really enjoyed the process rather than the product as they could interact with their avatar.

My first Edpuzzle

Hi, this is the link for my first Edpuzzle: https://edpuzzle.com/media/61c078f1e1ed8242a20bafa9 The reason I've chosen this video is because I think my students will get more engaged with this subject if they perceive its usefulness. British culture may sometimes be seen as something disconnected with EFL. So the main objective was to give a glimpse of such culture. The second objective was to motivate these digital natives to approach listening activities form a different angle. The sequence went as follows: 1. General discussion to test the students knowledge about Britain.  2. Show some examples of Edpuzzle to make them familiar with the app. 3. Give them the class code. 4. Assign the task to be done at home (flipping) I think the students liked the activity because the percentage of participation was quite high. My next puzzle will include some voice recording too, both on my behalf and theirs.
The last days of the first term, my ESO 1 students have practiseed the creation of timelines by using TimeToast. The task they were encouraged to do was to create a timeline for each of the different British dynasties of monarchs (Tudor, Stuart, Windsor...). The objectives were as follows: - Knowing the history of British Monarchs - Learning to use timelines. - Making an interdisciplinary activity. At first, we watched a tutorial of TimeToast and, then, the students started to look for information on the internet. Once it was gathered, they proceeded with the elaboration of the timeline.  As for the diffiiculties, they found it confusing the difference between "event" and "time spam", plus the order "month-day-year". Luckily, they were solved soon and they were enthusiastic about the idea. Regarding the things to be improved, it would be advisable to practise the format of the dates en English. Advantages of using TimeToast: - It is a different, funny and...
